In 2011, founder Arjun Haszard looked at the coffee liqueur market and found it wanting. New Zealand had one of the world's great coffee cultures, but no spirit that did it justice.
So he started from scratch. After hours in a Dunedin cafe kitchen a recipe emerged: flavour-forward, less sweet than old world liqueurs, built on cold-brew coffee using high-quality 100% arabica beans, rather than essences or artificial flavour.
A touch of cinnamon at the finish became the signature, a bridge between the bitter coffee and the spirit, smooth and long and quietly distinctive. Quick Brown Fox grew from the cold Saturday mornings at the Otago Farmers Market to the finest bars and bottle stores nationwide. The range has since expanded to include the Flat White Liqueur and a bottled Double Shot Espresso Martini.
